About Us.......

The Mugdock Children's Trust, established in 1912, as a children's home, became, in 1981, a grant giving body. We provide grants, typically of £500 - £1000 to registered charities whose object is the support and benefit of children in need, most often in the West of Scotland area. This may be due to disability, illness, either physical or psychological, or because of deprivation of any kind. Our Trust deed requires that grants are used within Scotland.

We support charities offering a wide variety of assistance to children. Our Trustees' meetings, at which applications are considered, take place in Spring and Autumn. Applications should be received by February 1st and September 1st each year for consideration at the subsequent meetings.

Please see the 'Make an Application' page for the form which we ask is completed. We need details of the applicant charity's registration number with OSCR or with the UK Charity Commission. Information relating to the purpose to which any grant awarded would be put and a link to the applicant charity's audited accounts filed with the relevant charity regulator. If such a link is not available, we ask that you attach a PDF file of your most recent independently examined accounts.

All applications will be acknowledged and the decision regarding the application will be sent by email following the biannual Trustees' meetings. Awards will be made by BACS and we ask that all successful applicant charities provide feedback about the use to which funds are put within twelve months of grant receipt.
